Before participating in a role playing session, please take the time to read the following guidelines. Everyone is required to follow these rules accordingly to ensure order and efficiency in the role players den. If problems or disputes arise, contact me via private message.
Keep in mind that role-playing is all about having fun. This isn’t a contest so don’t be ashamed to join in if you feel that you’re not a good writer. We all have different styles so be considerate of others.
- Show your fellow role players common courtesy and conduct yourself in an appropriate manner. Allow people time to reply and remember to take into consideration that we all have our own lives to lead.
- All players involved in a role playing session are required to post replies on a regular basis. We are all aware that we have lives to lead but do not keep your fellow roleplayers waiting for your response. Join only if you are absolutely sure you will be available to post.
- Write all RPs in a clear and coherent manner. Your fellow role players should be able to read and understand what you wrote to avoid any unnecessary conflicts. That includes proper punctuations, grammer, and spelling.
- Be imaginative in your RPs. Don't post something like "Bob enters the forest. An orc appears and he kills it with his sword". Be discriptive and add lots of fine detail in your work. Even if you are new to RPing, we still expect quality writing from everyone who participates
- Role-play your character in a logical manner. Do not RP your character beyond his/her abilities. No character is invincible or capable of doing everything. Also, a character cannot be in two places at the same time, so don’t join another RP with that char if he/she is still in the middle of another.
- Calling hits and actions of other characters are prohibited unless allowed by the player and/or the game master (GM).
- In regards to joining an RP session, take the time to read the previous posts and understand what’s going on. Follow along with the current storyline and post accordingly. Do not take the RP into your own direction.
- Do not blindly join an RP only to pull your character out when harm comes to him/her. You are responsible for your character. By joining a current RP, you accept the risks involved.
- Do not spam in the middle of an RP and do not interrupt the RP over an out of character matter. It’s disrespectful for the GM and the role-players. Start a seperate thread for that rp's discussion.
- In regards to starting your own RP, be sure to include a detailed introduction and explanation of the setting and storyline. Also remember to mention whether the RP is closed or open to others.
